Conference debate on the theme: “The Malian postal sector: Challenges and perspectives”
Mali, like other countries in the international community, commemorated World Post Day on October 9.
La Journée a été célébrée le mardi 11 octobre 2022 par l’organisation d’une conférence débat sur le thème : « Le secteur postal malien : Défis et perspectives » par l’AMRTP.
The work took place at the Azalai Salam hotel, in the presence of the representative of the Minister of Communication, Digital Economy and Administration Modernization, Mamadou DABO, Technical Advisor; the President of the Malian Telecommunications/ICT and Postal Regulatory Authority (AMRTP), Saidou PONA SANKARE and the CEO of the Post Office, Ibrahima HAIDARA.
Organized by AMRTP, the objective of this day was to raise awareness among individuals, entrepreneurs, consumers and postal operators about the role of the post office.
Speaking, the Minister’s representative focused on the challenges facing postal activity in particular: digitalization, innovation, diversification.
The Ministry’s Technical Advisor informed participants of the work in progress, in the field, which is that of defining a new postal sector development policy. A policy according to the Minister’s representative that “is inspired by the current evolution of the postal world and activity, which has its roots in the priority axes of the global strategy as well as in all regional and sub-regional plans relating to postal development…”
The President of AMRTP, Saidou Pona Sankaré, after stressing the importance of the day, welcomed the admission of our country to the small circle of members of the Board of Directors of the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
To this end, he invited to seize this opportunity to give a new face to the Malian postal sector; that of positions that innovate, in particular through dematerialization, a guarantee of strengthening consumer sympathy and trust; consideration of maintaining, in major concerns, security in shipments and data.
The President of the AMRTP, who made an excursion into the past of the Post Office, recalled his social and opening role.
Faced with the many challenges, He invited to research and implement new models. Saidou Pona Sankaré has given the assurance that the AMRTP will fully assume its responsibilities and intends to serve as a locomotive to stimulate reflection and facilitate exchanges, with a view to promoting Malian positions.
